P2S5 finds its major application in the manufacture of Organic Intermediates such as Diethoxy or Dimethoxy Di Thio Phosphoric
Acid, Di Ethyl Thiophosphoryl Chloride (DETC), Di Methyl Thiophosphoryl Chloride (DMTC),
Diethoxy or Dimethoxy Di Thio Phosphoric Acid are used in the manufacture of Technical Agro products such as Acephate, Anilphos, Dimethoate, Ethion, Fenitrothion, Malathion, Parathion, Phorate, and Phosalone.

II. Oil Additives |

P2S5 is used in the manufacturing process of strong acids like o.o.diethers, which readily form salt with metallic and organic bases. These metallic salts are dissolved in minor proportion in motor oils. They are very effective in retarding corrosion of sensitive motor alloys resulting in reduction in oxidation of lubricating oil under high pressure & thereby improving wear characteristics.
In the production of Di Thio Phosphoric Acid metal salts, ester is formed when P2S5
Reacts with Organic hydroxybody followed by neutralization of the resulting acid-diester of suitable metal compound.
P2S5 reacts with Cyclohexane (Oleofinic Material) to form Cyclohexane dithiophosphoric Acid which when treated with heavy metals forms metallic salts. These salts impart antioxidant effect, detergency and corrosion inhibition when mixed in Motor Oil.

III. Ore Floatation Agents: |
In mining operation of metals such as Copper, Nickel, Silver, Zinc and Lead, extracted ore need separation of metallic minerals from Ore. Ore floatation chemical compounds are manufactured by using Phosphorus Pentasulphide and caustic to make Thio Phosphates of Zinc salt which has a particular advantage in efficient operation at substantially lower cost compared to other processes of separation.
